Megan and Her Goody Goodies!
Born from a love of vintage jazz and Lindy Hop, Megan and her Goody Goodies make it their goal to keep the dance floor swinging all night long. Founded in the summer of 2016 and inspired by vintage swing from the late '30s and early '40s, the Goody Goodies are a Southeast-based band catering to the Lindy Hop and Blues community.
Led by vocalist and bandleader Megan Lange, the band seeks to bring an authentic vintage sound to the modern day audience. Finding inspiration in the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Julia Lee, Anita O'Day, and Bessie Smith and featuring a solid, driving rhythm section, the Goody Goodies capture the sound of a bygone era. |

Dave Fuerte
Time for your daily DJ update!
Born and raised in the Carolina lowcountry, Dave Fuerte has been DJing Blues, Swing, and Soul for a long ass time. Whether it be in his home scene of Charleston, across the Southeast, or most recently Denver, CO, Dave loves sharing those tunes that will have you grooving and grinning all night long. And he's excited to bring the lowcountry love to his northern neighbors at SCLX! Fun fact: His favorite soda is Pabst Blue Ribbon |
Mimi Liu
After the Lindy bug bit her good in 2010, swing, jazz, and blues have found permanent residences in Mimi's heart and she likes it that way! She plays music that inspires you to move and brings out the creativity in you, making sure you're feeling all sorts of good by the end of her set! She told me I could make something up here, so if you see her make sure you tell her how cool her hat is.

Geoff Newell
Geoff hails from Athens, Ga, where he began his Lindy Hop Journey in the early part of 2014. As he grew on the dance floor, Geoff began to fall in love with the music he danced to, and now he travels all over the Southeast sharing that love with everyone willing to plug him into a speaker system. He is a part of the regular DJ rotation for Athens Swing Night and the Greenville Lindy Hoppers, and his extensive collection of music grows every day. Geoff believes strongly in the idea that the music is an active part of any dance "conversation", and tries to find songs that make excellent partners for dancers of all skill levels. He approaches every DJ set with one sole mission: to keep the whole floor swingin’ all night long!

Suzanne Ducker
Suzanne started out ballroom dancing in South Carolina in 2004 and continued with it through college, competing and teaching. After some nudging from a friend, she went swing dancing for the first time in 2014 and was completely addicted from the very first swing out! Suzanne started DJing in November of 2014 as DJ Suzy-Q and hasn’t looked back since. Her sets are playful and sure to get you swinging out hard! She’s just moved back from the DC area where she enjoyed DJing at the Jam Cellar, the DC Balboa Club, and Back Room Blues. You may have caught one of her sets at Lindy Focus, PittStop Lindy Hop, SOHK, or DCLX. She can’t wait to join the DJ crew at SCLX! 📸 Jerry Almonte

Kyle Kelly
Teacher, organizer, MC, choreographer, dancer and DJ--Kyle started dancing back in 2007 and has been doing her best to do it all ever since. Hailing from Austin, TX, Kyle currently resides in Richmond, VA where she runs local organization, The Jazz Den, and regional event, Jammin' on the James.
We all have those songs that we wish we heard more on the social dance floor and Kyle is no exception, which is why she started DJing. Now Kyle can force you all to listen to all her favorite tunes with her. She can't wait to keep the crowd moving at Soda City this year with songs that make her (and hopefully you) want to swing out. |
Cate Rauschenberger
Cate comes to us from Richmond, VA, but started her journey ballroom dancing in Georgia in 2006. She’s done a little bit of everything dance-wise, but several years ago, the movement, community, and toe-tapping music of lindy hop stole her heart. After years of dancing in Atlanta, Cate recently moved to Richmond and joined the DJ team at The Jazz Den. At Soda City, she plans to keep you moving to a steady [soda ;)] stream of old standbys and new favorites. Expect a majority of classic, swing-era music, blending into some sweet, sweet soul as the night grows long. (📸Conway Li!)
